Safety
VDQ is committed to maintain a safe workplace across all of its operations. While maintaining a high level of integrity, awareness and responsibility, our objective is to achieve a zero-harm workplace.
Our policy states that VDQ will provide a safe working environment for all persons influenced by our operations – including employees, contractors, subcontractors, and third parties visiting the quarries.
The objectives of our Safety Policy are to:
- Develop and maintain a “Zero Harm Culture”
- Comply with all applicable OH&S Laws, Regulations, Codes of Practice, and client OHS Policies
- Identify workplace hazards, assess workplace risks, and eliminate or minimise those risks
- Continually improve employee health and safety awareness, communicate fit for work requirements, and ensure our workers have received training and instruction in assigned tasks
- Encourage a positive and transparent culture of mutual consultation and communication by ensuring VDQ management consults and communicates with employees on matters likely to affect their health and safety at work
Quality
At VDQ we aim to exceed expectations with the quality of our products and services. Our commitment to continual improvement ensures that our systems and processes remain in line with – or exceed – industry best practices.
Our products are tested and classified where required, ensuring compliance and consistency. To achieve this, VDQ have implemented quality procedures to ensure we are delivering the best product and service to our clients.
Our goal is to be an industry leader through the provision of good and services that are technically sound, socially, economically, and environmentally responsible, and which comply with regulatory requirements. We encourage and promote the continual improvement of our quality systems and processes by setting objectives and targets and assessing our achievements at regular intervals.
Environment
VDQ understand the importance of sustainable development and actively seek to limit our environmental impacts wherever possible.
We aim to achieve our environmental objectives by implementing our Environmental Policy in partnership with our clients and in consultation with our contractors, employees, and other stakeholders.
The objectives of our Environmental Policy are to:
- Comply with all applicable environmental Laws, Regulations, Codes of Practice, Permits and Licences
- Improve employee awareness by communicating on environmental matters likely to affect their work
- Investigate environmental incidents, identify the root cause, and implement corrective actions
- Ensure our suppliers, contractors, subcontractors, and visitors operate in accordance with this Policy
